Natural Disaster Response
A sudden mudslide on a Holladay hillside forced families out of their homes, sparking an emergency scramble to keep the neighborhood safe. City officials and emergency crews had to jump into action immediately to handle the slope failure and secure the area.
Business Recovery Support
Holladay is launching new programs to help local businesses bounce back from the pandemic just in time for the holiday shopping rush. If you love your favorite neighborhood shops, these efforts are designed to keep their doors open and your community vibrant.
Cottonwood Mall legal dispute
The developer behind the empty Cottonwood Mall site is asking the Utah Supreme Court for a do-over, claiming they messed up the facts. This means that massive eyesore in the middle of Holladay is going to sit empty even longer while the legal drama continues.
Eminent Domain
Holladay officials decided not to use eminent domain for a local project, meaning private property owners get to keep their land safe from forced city acquisition for now. It's a big win for local property rights.
Business License Fees
Holladay is giving local businesses a break by updating its licensing fees, meaning most owners will actually pay less than before. It's a nice win for anyone trying to run a shop or office in the city.
