Repeal of Data Center and Solar Moratorium
The commission is set to vote on lifting the temporary freeze on data centers and solar power plants, potentially reopening Iron County to these large-scale technology and renewable energy investments.
Water Resources and Data Center Consumption Caps
Residents and commissioners debated whether a proposed 50,000-gallon-per-day water cap for industrial overlay zones is sufficient, discussing water-saving technologies, offset rights, and potential impacts on local groundwater.
Open Meeting Violation
An Iron County commissioner is threatening to sue their own county over a sketchy closed-door meeting. It's a messy local government fight that's probably going to waste your tax dollars if it actually goes to court.
