4 issues in development with high priority
Ironwood Station Phase One Townhomes
Developers presented the site plan for 186 new townhomes on a 32-acre parcel, including parking arrangements, emergency access under Hinkley Drive, and stormwater detention plans. Commissioners questioned the lack of dedicated visitor parking and verified that driveways and garages meet code requirements.
Cole West LLC Small-Lot Residential Development
The council approved a development agreement allowing Cole West LLC to build 24 single-family detached homes on smaller lots at 5154 South 2700 West instead of higher-density townhomes.
Fiber Optic Infrastructure Deployment
Lumen wants to use above-ground pedestals to save money on fiber installation. The city is worried about how these look and if it's fair to other companies who followed different rules.
Community Center Development
Roy City Council is meeting this Tuesday to figure out the future of our local community center. Depending on what they decide, we could see big changes to the programs offered and how we actually get to use the facility.
