3 issues in public safety with high priority
Residential Pool Safety Barrier Regulations
The city is weighing whether to update its pool fence rules to allow certified automatic safety covers as an alternative to self-closing gates. This change pits modern convenience and advanced cover technology against traditional passive safety barriers recommended by public health agencies.
Fireworks Ban
West Bountiful and neighboring Davis County cities have restricted fireworks through July 25 to stop wildfires. If you were hoping to put on a backyard show, you'll need to sit this one out and check local rules first.
Emergency Evacuation
West Bountiful just ordered a mandatory evacuation because of an urgent local emergency. One person was arrested during the chaos, so if you live nearby, check your local alerts right now.
